Koa Kai Canoe Club operates from Magic Island at Ala Moana Beach Park, providing outrigger paddling instruction for both youth and adult members. Originally founded in 1979 for local police officers, the club has long since expanded into an inclusive community group known as the "Sea Warriors." The coaching staff focuses on teaching the fundamentals of traditional Hawaiian outrigger racing alongside ocean safety, teamwork, and respect for the water.
