## ❄️ FUJI BJJ Hawaii Winter Open 2026 **Date:** Sunday, December 6, 2026 The FUJI BJJ Hawaii Winter Open offers a wonderful opportunity for the local martial arts community to wrap up the year on the mats. Dedicated to providing a positive and supportive tournament experience, this event warmly welcomes competitors from all states and academies. Whether keiki are stepping onto the competition mats for the first time (ages 4 and up) or experienced adults are looking to test their skills, the tournament features Gi and No-Gi divisions for every age, weight, and skill level. ### 📍 The Essentials * **Location:** Aiea High School (98-1276 Ulune St, Aiea, HI 96701) * **Doors Open & Weigh-Ins Begin:** 8:00 AM * **First Matches:** 9:30 AM * **Ages:** 4 and up (All states welcome) ### 🗓️ Registration Deadlines & Key Dates Families and competitors are encouraged to secure their spots early. Please note that all registration cutoffs are at 11:59 PM. * **Early Bird:** Tuesday, October 27 * **Normal:** Tuesday, November 24 * **Late:** Saturday, December 5 **Tournament Week Schedule:** * **Check Day (Wednesday):** This is the final day for competitors to change their weight division without a fee. Uncontested divisions will also be gently merged on this day to ensure everyone has a fair and engaging match. * **Brackets Drop (Thursday):** The official schedule and brackets will be published online for families to review. ### ⚖️ Formats & Weigh-Ins To guarantee that everyone enjoys ample time on the mats, brackets will run as Best-of-Three, Round Robin, or Modified Double Elimination, depending on the division size. * **Weigh-In Rule:** Competitors have up to one hour to weigh in prior to the start of their division. * *Helpful Tip:* Participants and parents should keep a close eye on Smoothcomp throughout the day, as match times can occasionally shift based on bracket restructuring or the natural pace of the competition. ### 🎟️ Spectators & Coaches A supportive ohana makes all the difference, and family and friends are highly encouraged to fill the stands! * **Spectators (12 and older):** $10 at the door. (Keiki under 12 are free!) * **Coaches:** Each academy automatically receives at least one free coach's pass, with one additional free pass provided for every five registered students. There is no need for academies to message event organizers beforehand—coaches can simply check in at the door to claim their wristbands and support their students.
