**Jiu Jitsu Quest Hawaii 2026** Sponsored by SHUTAKU, Jiu Jitsu Quest is a youth Gi tournament featuring competitive matches, vendor booths, and games for athletes and attendees. ### **Event Details** * **Date:** Sunday, October 11, 2026 * **Location:** Japanese Cultural Center, 2454 S Beretania St. Honolulu, HI 96822 * **Parking:** $8 in the JCCH parking structure. * **Spectator Admission:** $10 at the door. Children under 6 enter free. ### **Registration Rates & Deadlines** All competitors must be registered and paid by September 22, 2026. No registrations are accepted on the day of the event. Pricing is locked based on the date payment is submitted, not the date the profile is created. * **Early Bird ($40):** Ends September 1, 2026 at Midnight. * **Normal ($60):** September 2 – September 14, 2026. * **Late ($80):** September 15 – September 22, 2026. ### **Competitor Awards & Packages** Medals will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in each division. Every registered athlete receives a complimentary gift package sponsored by SHUTAKU, which includes a JIU JITSU QUEST x Alikaleo Park UPF40+ crushable hat, drawstring bag, Kendama, stickers, keychain, $15 Dell's Kitchen gift card, and a bento. ### **Weigh-Ins (Completed with Gi)** Athletes only need to weigh in once. Once a weight is recorded and accepted, it cannot be changed. * **Early Weigh-In (Optional):** Saturday, October 10, from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM at Mano Jiu Jitsu (Manoa Marketplace, 2752 Woodlawn Dr #2F, Honolulu, HI 96822). * **Event Day Weigh-In:** Sunday, October 11, from 8:00 AM – 9:30 AM at the Japanese Cultural Center. ### **Event Schedule (Sunday, Oct. 11)** * **8:00 AM:** Doors open, weigh-ins begin, and check-in stations open. * **9:30 AM:** Weigh-in deadline for all competitors. * **10:00 AM:** Matches commence. *(Note: Athletes must check in at least one hour prior to their estimated match time, which can be monitored via Smoothcomp or venue displays.)* ### **Tournament Format** * **Rules:** Gi only. * **Match Length:** Ages 6–9 compete for 3 minutes; Ages 10–15 compete for 4 minutes. * **Scoring:** No overtime. Tied matches without a submission are decided by the referee based on attempts to win. * **Bracket Structure:** Two-competitor brackets are single elimination. Three-competitor brackets use a 3-play comeback format. Brackets of four include two matches per competitor and a bout for third place. ### **Divisions** Divisions are structured according to the IBJJF birth-year standard, divided by Boys Gi and Girls Gi: * **Kids Age Brackets:** 6–7, 8–9, 10–11, and 12–13. *(Weight classes range from Under 39.9 lbs to 170 lbs & Over).* * **Teens Age Brackets:** 14–15. *(Weight classes range from Under 99.9 lbs to 200 lbs & Over).*
